Planning an overseas trip and need someone in New Zealand to act on your behalf? Inspect My Rental provides temporary landlord cover for rental property owners who need a reliable local contact while they're away.
We help with tenant communication, property issues, arranging tradespeople when needed, carrying out inspections, and anything else that pops up, giving you peace of mind while you're overseas.
This service is designed for landlords who want temporary support without handing over ongoing rent collection or full property management control.
Leaving New Zealand for More Than 21 Days?
Under New Zealand's Residential Tenancies Act, landlords who will be out of New Zealand for more than 21 consecutive days must appoint a New Zealand based agent. The appointment must be made before departure if the landlord knows they will be away for that long.
If you're planning an extended trip, we can discuss whether our temporary cover service is suitable for your circumstances and agree on the responsibilities involved before you leave. Your tenant must also be given the agent's required contact details.
Our on-boarding process covers all the aspects required for us to meet your needs while you are away, and provide you peace of mind that your tenants and your property is being looked after.
Local Experience Support While You Are Away
We start with an on-boarding conversation to cover all the details about your property to make sure we look after the tenants and the property in a manner you are happy with.
This will include things like:

Contact details for you and the tenant

Emergency contact details

Agreed action to take in emergencies and spend level over which you must be informed

Known issues we need to monitor, if any

Advisement of the change of agent and who does what

Preferred tradespeople if something is needed
Rent collection is not included.
Any work required beyond the agreed on-call service scope is charged separately.
Acting As Your NZ Agent:
Pricing:
$100 for onboarding.
$30 per week for on-call management.
$60/hr if any action is needed.
